Birthday and Baby Blessing Party

The family (minus Darren and mom) with Flat Abby
Jeff and I at the blessing party for Libby/Birthday party for Cassidy
The kids were watching a show and I couldnt' get their attention.

Aubrey and Cassy are only a few months apart...so cute with grammy. Cassy was very tired.
Cassy was excited about her yummy cake.

Cassy didn't understand that she was supposed to blow the candles out and just wanted to hold the balloons on top.

Cassy was so happy with each present she opened.

Adorable baby Liberty (Libby) about two months old.

San Diego Fun

Jeff and I went to San Diego for the weekend...basically one day. We were able to visit my sister's family, my mom, as well as my brother's family. We always enjoy seeing the kiddies.
For some reason Cassidy started the nudey dance and all the kids decided to join in.

Naomi couldn't get enough of the Stratego pieces...we had to convince her we'd take good care so we could play with them.
This is a picture of Aubrey being shocked after getting caught picking a winner.
I love this picture, the three of them are so cute in their giant hug!
I am not even sure what the kids are doing in this picture but they thought it was hilarious. Aubrey is a big helper with her new baby cousin. The four girls trying to scrunch in on the couch.
Cassy couldn't get enough of the camera. Everytime I went to take a picture of the baby she walked in front of the camer and gave me a big smile.

This Little Pinky

My whole life I have had crooked pinkies. Not only are they crooked but for some reason I can not straighten them all the way...I know what a freak. My family and I have always joked about them, telling me that I should get physical therapy to fix them.

I have come to realize just how honest kids are! I was doing flashcards with a few of the 3rd graders at school about a week ago and had something funny happen. One of the boys was doing the flashcards when he yelled out "Mrs. Meyers, there's something wrong with your pinky!" I looked at my pinky, realizing that he was referring to how crooked it was. Then, about one minute later he said still very shocked, "Seriously, I think it's broken!" I had to laugh, because to a young kid it may be scary looking. The below picture doesn't give the crookedness justice, its hard taking a picture with one hand.

New Beginnings and Snow Day

On Tuesday our Young Women's program held our yearly New Beginnings program. It went pretty well. We asked 8 wonderful ladies from our ward to present the 8 values to the YW. Each lady got their own room to decorate and many gave out handouts to the YW too. I made some mini cheesecakes that seemed to be a hit (which I am very proud of, since I was baking for hours the day before). Since the theme was "Be Thou an Example" we gave the YW Moroccan lanterns :
They turned out really cute with a tag that says the theme tied on with black ribbon. We also put the flameless candles in them. Overall the night went well.

The same day we also got a few inches of snow here. This is kind of weird for Prescott in mid February. I even got to miss student teaching because they declared it a snow day at school. There were snowmen all over the place too. It was a great day!

I know a lot of you are getting sick of seeing the puppies all over our blog, but there are some people that enjoy the updates, especially the potential owners :). They will be ready for a new home tomorrow! It makes me happy and sad.

New Year update

I haven't updated since Christmas so I thought I would let everyone know what is going on in our neck of the woods:

  • I started student teaching on January 5th. This means that I had to quit my day job at Northcentral University and basically pay to work now :). I went into student teaching (having been a frequent substitute teacher and done my practicum) thinking that teaching was common sense and easy. Now that I am seeing the evaluations and the parent/teacher contact and all of the countless hours that goes into lesson planning I am starting to stress out a bit. I guess I need to change my attitude go back to the way I felt just a few months ago and not sweat the littles things. It is hard because I am a worrier. I really do enjoy the class I am in though. They are 3rd graders and I am really starting to love each of them. They are so cute!

  • My sister had her fourth baby! Little Liberty Jean was born on December 31st. She is a cutie and I can't wait to meet her. There are pictures on my sisters blog. Jeff and I now have 24 nieces and nephews, with the 25th on the way next month. They just keep coming.

  • Our puppies are getting big and they are so cute. They are in their third week now and their eyes opened up just a few days ago. They are still sleeping most of the day and don't squeek nearly as much.

Not much else has happened around here, worthy of blogging. I don't make resolutions because I never keep them, but I do hope to go back on my diet and lose a lot of weight. We would also like to add a new addition to our family soon, hopefully by next year :).
